Danielle Nolfo
Kristen Haskell, born in Massachusetts in 1983,
studied graphic design and studio art at Marymount
Manhattan College. Although she moves within
many artistic fields, she mainly focuses on painting.
Her preferred medium is oil on canvas, but has
most recently been experimenting with acrylic.

Kristen Haskell's work can be either figurative or
abstract. She paints with a figure in mind, most
often an animal, and creates an abstract image
embedded with the figure. Haskell encourages her
viewers to find the figure within her pieces but also
to use their own interpretation of what the figure
could be.

Kristen Haskell graduated from Marymount
Manhattan College in 2005, shortly after her first
solo show at Marymount's Hewitt Gallery of Art. The
show was up for three months. She currently lives
and works in Brooklyn, New York.
